During the fall months and early December, club members maintain the trails through trail clearing activities.  Every effort is made to leave the area as natural as possible as set out in our Trail Clearing Guidelines.  To maintain the trails, club activities include a Trail Clearing Camping  Weekend, the Magic Bus and Trail Captains' Excursions.

Trail Clearing Camping Weekend

This is a two-day event leaving from Nine-Mile Marina by boat Saturday morning and returning Sunday afternoon.  There is a one hour hike in from the drop off point and from there, daily excursions to clear trails and hopefully to pick berries.  Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast will be communal meals.  Bring your backpack, tent, sleeping bag, hiking boots, a mess kit and lunch for two days, water container and flashlight.  We will car pool to our trails.  Check the members' site for more details.

Dedicated Trail Clearing Weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday)

First off, you do not have to trail clear both days but we have set aside this weekend to clear trails on the Highway 69 side.  By having a dedicated weekend, we can be more efficient clearing our trails and co-ordinating car pools, equipment, drop-offs and pick-ups since many access points have little or no parking at the trailheads.

After trail clearing on Saturday, we will have a pot luck or just stay for appetizers at a members' house near the trails.  For those who wish, there is room for people to stay overnight.  Check the members' site for more details.

TRAIL CAPTAINS:   Please call or e-mail Chester  with the status of your trails.

Trail Captains' Excursions

Trail captains arrange with volunteers to clear their assigned section of trail.  This may take the form of a day excursion, a camping weekend or may include a canoe into the trail system.  We will car pool to our trails.  Check the members' site for more details.
