This is a two-day event leaving from Nine-Mile
Marina by boat Saturday morning and returning Sunday afternoon. There
is a one hour hike in from the drop off point and from there, daily
excursions to clear trails and hopefully to pick berries. Saturday
dinner and Sunday breakfast will be communal meals. Bring your
backpack, tent, sleeping bag, hiking boots, a mess kit and lunch for two
days, water container and flashlight. We will car pool to our trails.
Call the Club Information Line at (416) 860-6152.
Sunday, October 23, 2005: The Magic
Bus has been booked for this Sunday. There is still plenty of room
available so come along and bring some friends to help out.
To assist trail captains with trail clearing, a
bus will be taking volunteers to the trail system to help
with the clearing. This is your opportunity to discover the magic of
the trail system in the off season and enjoy the fall colours of Muskoka
with the guidance of experienced members There will be a $10.00
charge to help defray the cost of the bus.
Bring your hammers, clippers and saws to supplement the club tools.
This will be a rain or shine event so bring your raincoat and leather
gloves. We will decide which trails to do on the way up but bring your
usual trail map, compass and day pack etc. Think of this as a
pre-season warm-up! If you are coming, call the club number
(416) 860-6152
and leave a message with your name, what tools you will bring and
where you will be picked up.
Regular pick-up points will be used for this
event. For locations and times, go to
Transportation to Our Trails.
TRAIL CAPTAINS:
Please
call or e-mail Chester at
trails@skifivewinds.org
with the status of your trail clearing by
October 6th so that he can organize the trail clearing
for the Magic Bus.
Trail captains arrange with volunteers to clear
their assigned section of trail. This may take the form of a day
excursion, a camping weekend or may include a canoe into the trail
system. We will car pool to our trails.
